WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT WORKING WITH US

  • We publish your book independently without ever taking a cut. You have complete control over your book’s pricing, formats and distribution and you retain 100% ownership of your rights.

  • We are here to advise and guide you, but you decide which platforms your book is published on. As the author, you have the final say over all creative choices.

  • We provide the assistive, technical and publishing framework for storytellers with conditions such as aphasia and dyslexia, affective alexithymia, PTSD and executive dysfunction.

  • Not every story is an easy story. We respect your pace and boundaries, recognise the impact of past experiences and prioritise your emotional well-being throughout the writing and publishing process.

  • We work with speech-based, custom-built software for storytellers with aphasia or dyslexia. We handle all setup, training and remote troubleshooting, keeping our digital workflows effortless so you can focus entirely on storytelling.

The Process

    • Setting up technical infrastructure in your home, including a private recording space, audio equipment, custom memory software and read-aloud tools.

    • Tailored training, business-hours tech support via remote screen control and direct coordination with your support worker or family where helpful.

    • Using structured interviews, custom software and spontaneous voice notes to draw out and organise your story at an iterative, trauma-informed pace.

    • Organising your input into a cohesive narrative using literary techniques – such as non-linear and embodied storytelling, fictionalising events or flashbacks – to best achieve your storytelling goals.

    • Drafting initial chapters based on your audio input and agreed book architecture.

    • Reviewing drafts out loud using browser-based read-aloud tools.

    • Collecting your feedback through voice notes and calls.

    • Conducting oral copyedits together to refine clarity while preserving your spoken cadence and authentic voice.

    • Discussing a suitable publishing strategy for you and deciding on a print-on-demand service that aligns with your preferences.

    • Refining your target reader and gathering ideas for your cover design.

    • Executing final edits, proofreading, professional interior typesetting for print and layout proofing

    • Validating all interior and cover files and exporting clean digital formats like EPUB.

    • Setting up your author accounts on print-on-demand platforms, configuring metadata like ISBNs and categories, and handing over all login details so you maintain full control.

    • Uploading final files to your chosen POD platforms
